What Is AI Bias?

AI bias occurs when a model reflects or amplifies unfair patterns present in its training data, producing skewed results in areas like hiring, lending, or policing. Because the bias is learned rather than explicitly programmed, it can be hard to detect and correct, making fairness testing and diverse, representative data important.
