What Are Parameters in an AI Model?

Parameters are the internal values a neural network learns during training — the weights that determine how it transforms inputs into outputs. A model’s parameter count, often in the billions, is a rough measure of its size and capacity. More parameters can mean greater capability, but also higher training and running costs.
